Zwei Paar Hände, die sich gegenseitig festhalten

I have a solidarity-based pricing model – because I think it's important that psychotherapy, coaching and couples therapy are affordable for as many people as possible. There are three levels:

1) Standard fee
2) Solidarity fee
3) Reduced fee (currently no places available)

How much money someone has at their disposal depends on many different factors. Some people have children or care for relatives, while others are only financially responsible for themselves. Some inherit money or assets, while others are still paying off loans for their education. And the career path you can take often depends on your family background, upbringing, education and country of origin.

When clients choose the solidarity fee, they help financially less privileged people to afford my services as well.

Please note:
All places for the reduced fee are currently taken.

Psychotherapy or coaching / counseling?

And what’s VAT got to do with it?

Whether it's psychotherapy or coaching/counseling, my work is always based on the same therapeutic approach, which I adapt individually to your issues, goals and wishes.

In the German healthcare system, psychotherapy requires a diagnosis of mental illness – such as depression, anxiety disorder, attachment disorder, trauma induced disorder or adjustment disorder. (An adjustment disorder can occur when you find it difficult to adapt to a new situation – for example, after a separation, losing your job or other significant life events). Psychotherapy for the treatment of mental illness is exempt from VAT.

If you do not have a mental illness, we can still do therapy – only it’s not officially referred to as psychotherapy, but as coaching or psychological counseling. These services are subject to a VAT rate of 19 percent, which makes them slightly more expensive than psychotherapy.

During the first consultation, I can give you an initial assessment of whether you might have a mental illness.

The right fee for you

The combination of various factors determines how much money you can spend on therapy, coaching and couples therapy. I leave it up to you to decide which fee is right for you.

Here are some pointers to help you with your assessment.

Reasons for a higher fee
(not all points must apply)

  • You have a monthly income of more than 2,200 euros net.

  • You are only financially responsible for yourself.

  • You have financial reserves.

  • You have inherited or will inherit a larger sum/assets.

  • You can afford vacations and/or luxury items relatively easily.

Reasons for a lower fee
(not all points must apply)

  • You are studying or looking for work.

  • You have a monthly income of less than 1,500 euros net.

  • You have children or care for relatives.

  • You have no financial reserves.

  • You are chronically ill and have high healthcare costs.

Health insurance providers

I cannot bill health insurance providers (“Krankenkassen”), so you have to pay for my services yourself. The advantage for you is that I am not bound to the therapy procedures prescribed by the “Krankenkasse”. In addition, you will typically get an appointment quickly.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be billed in full.
